Helena moved back to the West Midlands in 2003 to gain more specific community neuro rehabilitation experience and currently holds a team leader role in neurosurgery at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham.

In January 2000 Helena joined The National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery in London working on the Acute Brain Injury Unit, in-patient post acute neuro rehabilitation unit and out-patients; working with clients with complex neurological disabilities.

In 1995 Helena joined the University Hospital Birmingham (UHB) NHS trust to complete senior O.T. rotations working in general medicine, oncology and neurosciences before undertaking locum posts in London at The Whittington, The Wellington, Guy's and St Thomas's, West Middlesex and University College London. Clinical areas covered were acute in-patient neuro rehabilitation, intermediate care and community.

Helena is an experienced Occupational Therapist with a special interest in neuro rehabilitation following brain injury and is committed to client centered practice and team working. She graduated in 1994 from The University College of Ripon and York, St John Occupational Therapy School with a Bachelor of Health Science Degree in Occupational Therapy.  After qualifying as an Occupational Therapist she trained at the Queens Medical Centre Nottingham in spinal disorders, out patient paediatrics and community learning disabilities.
