Dr Tanya Edmonds Consultant Clinical Neuropsychologist
Tanya is a Consultant Clinical Neuropsychologist with a background of working as a Consultant Clinical Psychologist and Neuropsychologist in the NHS for many years, experience of working at a senior level in the Voluntary Sector, and extensive experience of medico-legal assessment and intervention. Dr. Tanya Edmonds has Practitioner Full Membership of the Division of Neuropsychology and is a Chartered Clinical Psychologist with the British Psychological Society and registered with the Health Professions Council.
She graduated from Sussex University with a BSc (Hons) Experimental Psychology in 1991. Subsequently she gained an MSc in Gerontology in 1992 from King's College, London University. In 2001 she gained her Doctorate in Clinical Psychology in 2001 from the School of Psychology, University of Wales, Bangor and then her Diploma in Clinical Neuropsychology in 2006, again from the School of Psychology, University of Wales, Bangor.
Following her Doctorate in Clinical Psychology, Tanya took up a post as Senior Clinical Neuropsychologist for the North Wales Brain Injury Service in 2001. Here she provided assessment and intervention for patients with traumatic and non-traumatic head injury. She also provided support and intervention for families and carers and case management of patients with complex needs or behavioural difficulties arising from a neurological event, or consultation, advice and supervision provided for other case managers.
In 2007, Tanya moved to be the Consultant Clinical Psychologist and Clinical Neuropsychologist for Cwm Taf Local Health Board, where she currently still practices. She provides specialist Clinical Psychology Service to the Stroke/Neuro Service. Tanya delivers assessment and intervention to patients, groups and relatives as well as training, supervision and consultation to other professionals on psychological and neuropsychological aspects of care and the management of other psychologists within the Stroke/Neuro Service.
